PHAZIR Method GeneratorTM Software Information

Polychromix, the world leader in handheld spectroscopy solutions, is proud to introduce the PHAZIR Method Generator Software. Just as the PHAZIR has revolutionized NIR spectroscopy making NIR analysis portable and easy-to-use outside laboratories, the PHAZIR Method Generator is making NIR models faster than ever before.

Step 1: Spectral Data Import

Just connect to the PHAZIR USB port and PHAZIR MG can automatically access spectral data from the PHAZIR's internal database. PHAZIR MG automatically assigns group classifications to the spectra in the PHAZIR. The user can simultaneously acquire and identify spectra using the GroupID function in the PHAZIR.

Step 2: Data Pre-treatment

It is common practice in NIR spectroscopy to mathematically modify the spectra in order to enhance features and minimize variations due to matrix and physical effects. PHAZIR Mg has a generous range of data pre-treatment functions.

Pre-treatment Methods:
  -Baseline Offset
  -Baseline Linear
  -Normalize Max
  -Normalize Range
  -Normalize Range Center
  -Normalize Unit Vector
  -Derivative - Savitzky Golay
  -Standard Normal Variate
  -Multiplicative Scatter Correction
-Just select the pre-treatment function from a convenient pull down menu. You can specify up to 5 pre-treatment functions in   any order.

Step 3: Select Classification Type

PHAZIR MG Software provides qualitative classification with the popular Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and Spectral Matching methods. Operators can generate models and compare results with the click of a button. PHAZIR MG Software provides graphical plots to provide an efficient way of evaluating model performance.

Principal Components Analysis:
  -Graphical interative threshold setup
  -Graphical model overview

Spectra Matching:
  -K-Nearest Neighbor Validation
  -Cross Correlation Plots
  -Exclusion variable
  -Minimum threshold

Step 4: Generating Reports and Saving Methods

Thresholds for each PCA factor can be defined graphically usingthe interactive Box Editor function or automatically with a single push of the Autobox Function. The PHAZIR MG expert system automates method validation. Reports are generated with easy to understand text messages that describe the model quality and predictive capability. Methods can be saved as a PHAZIR application. You can choose to save it in an editable text format or in a secure encrypted format.
